On this tour we take in some incredible scenery and some challenging tracks. You will get to experience a few days on the Canning Stock Route on your way to the Gunbarrel Highway. This trip is full of stunning landscapes, awesome gravel roads and windy tracks, with desert crossings, bulldust holes and rugged outback towns.
So if you have a sense of adventure, and want bragging rights to last a lifetime, maybe you should clear your calendar for this one. ITINERARY
Day 1: Wiluna to Carnegie Station

We travel through cattle country today, with plenty of wildlife along the way.
Day 2: Station Tour at Carnegie Station

Join us for a guided tour of the station. We wrap up the day with a hearty meal served at the station.
Day 3: Carnegie Station to Geraldton Bore
204km (B)
Heading east along the Gunbarrel Highway, we enter the Gibson Desert. Today brings our first sand dunes and a peaceful camp beneath the gum trees at Geraldton Bore.
Day 4: Geraldton Bore to Heather Highway
158km (B)
A challenging day on the Gunbarrel, with rough sections to navigate. Late in the day we turn onto the Heather Highway and make camp near the junction.
Day 5: Heather Highway to Lake Christopher
376km (B)
After leaving the Heather, we join the Great Central Road and stop at the Aboriginal community of Warburton. With tanks full, we continue along the GCR and a stretch of the Gunbarrel before reaching camp.
Day 6: Lake Christopher to Yulara
421km (C D R)
We refuel at Warakurna, then visit Giles Meteorological Station to see the historic grader used to create the Gunbarrel road. After morning tea, we travel to Lasseter’s Cave for lunch. By afternoon, the domes of Kata Tjuta appear, followed by the iconic silhouette of Uluru as we arrive at Yulara Resort.
Day 7: Yulara
Free Day (C M R)
Spend the day exploring at your own pace. Visit Uluru, walk around its base or take a scenic helicopter flight for a bird’s-eye view.
Day 8: Yulara to Kings Canyon

We leave Uluru behind and head east on sealed roads to the Lasseter Highway, then north to Kings Canyon. It’s an easy drive with striking scenery and time to explore on arrival.
Day 9: Kings Canyon to Glen Helen Lodge
228km (C M R)
Enjoy a morning walk or capture sunrise photos before continuing through the MacDonnell Ranges. We visit several scenic spots en route to Glen Helen.
Day 10: Glen Helen Lodge to Alice Springs
128km (C D R)
We explore wonderful sites on the way to Alice Springs, including Standley Chasm, Simpsons Gap and the historic Telegraph Station. After refuelling and restocking in town, we gather for dinner to wrap up the journey.
